Rosalind Gardner : Super Affiliate Handbook

Rosalind Gardner : Super Affiliate Handbook

Rosalind Gardner

Rosalind Gardner entered affiliate marketing after quitting her job as a air traffic controller without any previous marketing knowledge . She quickly became successful and today is a sought after speaker at various affiliate conferences and summits. She believes if you love doing your work , you won’t have to work one day in your life .

Affiliate Marketing Strategy: Rosalind makes use of the time tested strategy: Make a good site which gives information to people and recommend them product and services. She also believes in building an opt in email list and building a relationship with them over a period of time. Her primary website is Sage-hearts.com (opens in new window). It now has over 70,000 subscribers and generates around $30,000 -$50,000 per month. Her traffic strategy is biased towards pay per click but also makes use of other simple methods.

Review: The Super affiliate handbook has been written with the total beginner in mind. Rosalind has been in the business since 1998 and gives solid advice based on her experience. A lot of my precious time in the beginning was wasted floating around in forums and trying to understand the industry. There is a lot of misinformation floating on the internet, too much hype and too much misjudgment regarding affiliate marketing. Super affiliate handbook contains all doubts, tips and suggestions a beginner needs to know to enter the industry in a well informed manner. A few highlights from the book

  • Super Affiliate HandbookMyths / misconceptions in internet marketing
  • Understanding the Affiliate lifestyle
  • Understanding basics of the affiliate business
  • Researching profitable ideas
  • How to build a website and tools required.
  • How to choose affiliate programs
  • 29 ways to drive traffic to your website

The book is well structured and deliberately written.

Who Should Buy: If you are a total beginner the book is for you. To implement the advice you would need additional training: a good book on Seo or Pay per click would be necessary. If you are an intermediate affiliate I would recommend Jeremy Palmer's ebook.

How it helped me: I started affiliate marketing after reading a money making ebook which still sells today. The notorious ebook taught tips and tactics to make money by sending traffic directly to merchants. Like thousands I found only disappointment. After reading Rosalind’s book I realized that I have no business if don’t have a website. A good, sustainable business always helps people and builds a relationship. I use her approach in many of my websites.

Rating: Excellent for total beginners. Fair if you made your first dollar online.

Pls Don’t Let Your Website Go Stale

One of the tough things about trying to build a successful website is writing fresh content. Whether you’re doing affiliate marketing or you’re just trying to start a blog it’s important that you add fresh content to your website for your visitors to read.

This can be hard, especially on a regular basis but there are a couple of ways to get new content ideas!

Fresh Content Ideas Tip 1

When I’m struggling for new content ideas the first thing I do is go to http://blogsearch.google.com/ and type in a broad keyword related to my website. Then on the left hand side I’ll set it to search for websites updated in the past week.

This will bring back a list of websites in your niche that have been updated with new content in the past week! Then I’ll spend some time reading through the posts to see what other people are writing about.

This is a great way to get some fresh content ideas!

Fresh Content Ideas Tip 2

Another thing you can do if you’re stuck for ideas on what to write about is check on the most visited forums in your niche. Pretty much every niche has forums in it where people go to talk. This is great because these are the people you want to visit your website so if you can see what they are talking about then this will help to spur all sorts of fresh content ideas.

So to sum up, if you’re in need of fresh content ideas then the 2 best places to check are Google blog search for the most recent updated blogs in your niche and the most popular forums in your niche where your target market hang out.

If you’ve got other ways of getting content ideas then let us know below!

Keyword Stuffing Is A No No

Keyword stuffing is so 2003. A lot of people still think it’s effective to do keyword stuffing to get better results at seo. If you do affiliate marketing then I’m sure you’ve read on some website or in some ebook that you need a certain keyword density of x.x% but this is completely wrong!

If you’re writing content for a website then you need to totally forget about your keyword density and write the article naturally as if you were writing for a real person.

Many people don’t realise that as soon as they decide to edit the article to insert more keywords is when the article becomes degraded.

Content where the keyword is overused is annoying to read and will just piss your visitors off and make them click the back button.

On top of that it’s not effective in terms of SEO, there’s been lots of tests done including my own that shows there’s no particular keyword density that instantly gets you better rankings which means it’s a much better idea to focus on writing the best content you can for your visitors and using your keyword when it comes to mind naturally.

So end all this “write for the search engines” nonsense and start writing for your visitors, the people that matter.

Thanks for reading!
